The good – we took possession of 9 cases of our 2022 harvest – a Syrah/Grenache blend that Bill English made with who knows what other vineyards. We have lots of fun photos of visiting Bill at the commercial winery that’s slowly taking shape in Lafayette for tasting the wine during the aging process. It’s a lovely wine – winning the Gold Medal in the SF Chronicle competition for Syrah blends $35 and under.
The bad. We only had 250 lbs of harvest in 2024. Lots of grapes that never really developed. Our wine makes told us critter damage, but others said mildew. Definitely was not critter damage. Good thing we are not in this business to make a living.
